spoiler alert: This was set in 2 times, one in 1945 when a boy (maybe about 10) is fostered in a safer area during the war. As the war end, soldiers come and liberate the town. One soldier (maybe 20) takes an interest in the boy and starts to groom him and it goes further and there's some really cringey stuff going on. I think the only thing the soldier lost were his morals. Then he leaves and the boy gets no closure. Flashing ahead to 1992, the boy now about 60 is a dance instructor, but never knew anything about the soldier. The movie ends with him getting an envelope with the information he would need to find the soldier, but that's it, the viewer is left without closure as we don't know if he looked for him or not. I put the spoiler alert because normally I don't reveal movie endings, but I did in this one to draw the parallel between the boy not getting closure in 1945 and the viewer not getting closure in 1992.
